Expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (EPTFE) ski-grade membrane material is formed into a 0.1-0.3μm uniform microporous structure through an ultra-low temperature biaxial stretching process, achieving >25,000mmH₂O hydrostatic pressure (ISO 811) and >12,000g/m²·24h moisture permeability (ASTM E96). It is specially designed for alpine skiing, freestyle skiing and polar expeditions, and meets the EN 342:2017 extreme cold protection standard and Bluesign® environmental certification.
EPTFE Advantages
Performance in extreme cold environments
Ultra-low temperature adaptability: moisture permeability>8,000g at -50℃, the membrane layer remains flexible and does not become brittle (traditional PTFE membranes fail at -20℃).
Anti-icing design: surface ice-repellent coating (ice adhesion strength <10kPa, ASTM D7194) reduces snow accumulation and compaction.
Dynamic protection and lightweight
Storm-level waterproofing: hydrostatic pressure>25,000mmH₂O, resisting blizzard penetration (compared to GORE-TEX® Pro only 20,000mmH₂O).
Ultra-light structure: substrate weight <75g/m², 30% lighter than traditional ski membranes, supporting the need to reduce the load of racing skiing.
Environmental protection and durability
Fluorine-free process: water-based dispersants are used throughout the production process, and PFAS is not detected (EPA 537.1 detection limit <1ppb).
Abrasion and Scratch Resistant: Nano-aluminum oxide coating on the surface (Mohs hardness > 8), can resist snowboard edge scratches > 50,000 times (EN 530).
