Expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) is suitable for a variety of environments, including extreme temperatures, chemical corrosion, and scenarios with high biocompatibility requirements.
Applicable temperature range
ePTFE can be used safely in a temperature range of -200℃ to 260℃, which allows it to maintain good performance under various extreme temperature conditions.
Chemical stability
ePTFE has very good tolerance to almost all commercial chemicals and is almost not corroded by any chemical except molten alkali metals and free fluorine atoms. This property allows ePTFE to work stably in various chemical environments.
Biocompatibility
ePTFE has good biocompatibility and is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, non-sensitizing and other side effects. Due to its microporous structure, human tissue cells and blood vessels can grow into its micropores to form tissue connections, just like autologous tissue. This makes ePTFE widely used in the medical field, such as artificial blood vessels and heart patches.
