Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a material with excellent high temperature resistance. Its temperature resistance is mainly reflected in the following aspects: ‌

‌Long-term use temperature‌
PTFE can be used for a long time in the temperature range of -180℃~260℃, which is one of its most significant characteristics.

‌Short-term high temperature resistance‌
In a short period of time, polytetrafluoroethylene can even withstand high temperatures above 300℃, but its continuous use temperature is still recommended to be controlled within 260℃.

‌Melting point and decomposition temperature‌
The melting point of polytetrafluoroethylene is about 327℃, but it will gradually decompose above 450℃ and directly turn into gas.

‌Temperature resistance range in application‌
In actual applications, polytetrafluoroethylene products (such as polytetrafluoroethylene plates, polytetrafluoroethylene rods, polytetrafluoroethylene hoses, etc.) are usually marked with a temperature resistance range of -200℃~250℃, which is suitable for a variety of extreme environments.

In summary, polytetrafluoroethylene has excellent temperature resistance. Its long-term operating temperature can reach 260°C and it can withstand higher temperatures in the short term. However, in actual applications, the appropriate temperature range must be selected according to specific needs.
