Tips for using PTFE semi-finished products mainly include the following aspects:
Surface treatment: Before using PTFE semi-finished products, you must ensure that the surface is clean and dust-free. Use solvents such as ethanol and acetone to clean the surface to remove oil and dust, and ensure that the surface is smooth and free of impurities. If there are impurities on the surface, the paint or gasket will not adhere firmly, and may even cause the coating to crack or fall off.
Cutting and installation: For PTFE gaskets, they need to be cut according to the shape and size of the parts. Use scissors or a cutter to cut the gasket into the corresponding shape and size, ensuring that the gasket and the sealing surface of the part are completely matched. When installing, place the cut gasket on the sealing surface of the part to ensure that the gasket fits the sealing surface completely without air gaps. Finally, use appropriate tools to tighten the parts to ensure that the gasket remains tightly fitted during the sealing process.

Coating method: For PTFE coatings, common coating methods include spraying, brushing, and dipping. When spraying, you need to choose a suitable spray gun, keep a certain distance between the nozzle and the surface of the object to be coated, and avoid excessive accumulation of paint. It is recommended to use a brush or wool brush when brushing, and avoid using a hard brush to avoid scratches. When dipping, the viscosity of the paint should be moderate. If it is too thin, it will easily flow away, and if it is too thick, it will not be easy to penetrate. No matter which method is chosen, make sure that the paint is evenly applied to avoid missing or uneven coating thickness.
Drying and curing: The coating needs to be dried and cured after coating to achieve the desired effect. The drying temperature of polytetrafluoroethylene coating is generally required to be above 180℃, and the curing time is usually 30 minutes to 1 hour. If the curing temperature is too low or the time is too short, the durability and corrosion resistance of the coating will be greatly reduced.
Material properties: PTFE material has excellent chemical stability, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. Pure PTFE gaskets are suitable for temperatures between -100~250℃. Expanded PTFE gaskets have better flexibility, compression resilience, high and low temperature resistance and self-lubrication. Filled modified PTFE gaskets have higher compressive strength, wear resistance and good chemical corrosion
resistance.
